Update on Serenity and Child

Posted on Jul 3rd, 2006 by ~Matthew : Youthful Maturity ~Matthew

Hello All,

I spoke with Korenna last night.  I want to give you an update on how she and her baby boy are doing.  But first a little story:

Korenna hadn't picked a name for the boy yet, and when he was born, they asked her if he had a name.  She said, "No.  Uh... but his middle name is Sebastian."  She was surpised later when she went to visit him in the incubator and his birth certificate read "Noah Sebastian Barto"!

Anyway, Noah's condition has been neither improving nor declining.  We should know in about a week or two what his prognosis is.  For now, just keep up the prayers, Love, and Light sending in his direction.

Thanks, everyone, for your kindness.  It is much appreciated.

Now THAT'S a name to live up to…and live for.

He's gonna be just fine.

Noah's have great…vision. His soul is strong….neonatal medicine is ever vigilant. I've worked on clients who work in those units. Don't worry….

We're ALL gonna celebrate his first birthday, count on it!

At night, in the dreamtime, we ALL whisper in his ear, how much he's loved, and we're lending him strength and vitality for his journey ahead.

love and more, Matthew…thanks for the update.

Thoughts and prayers already sent.  I think the most poignant moments we will ever encounter come when we must surrender to the unknown when it holds such depth of feeling.  I will most certainly keep this precious family in my thoughts today.

Another update… Just spoke with Korenna last night.  I'm getting the feeling that Noah wishes to join us in this adventure called life.  His weight is back up to what it was when he was born (it had declined for a little while), and things appear stable.  Still have to wait and see, but Korenna seemed hopeful.  My intuition tells me Noah will pull through.  Keep up the prayers, love, light, and all you can give to this little guy…

Hi Matthey, Johann here in Singapore :)

Noah is a good name. I dont know the story fully yet, I glanced through your posts just now…and I see the boy well, bright, sweetly outrageously joyfully naturally doing GOOD.

All is well in our world. Peace.

NICU is scary, but full of people who have seen miracles and believe in them. I'm sending Noah Sebastian warm white light, from the top of his head to the tip of his toes!

Thank you for the update Matthew.  I will keep them both in my thoughts.  The name is beautiful…neat story as to how it came to be.

Dear Ones,

We were in the NICU in Indianapolis with my grandaughter for two weeks last year (September/October). So I've seen the beast. Hold fast to this thought and repeat it as much as possible, it will help a great deal. “All shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.” Repeat it as a mantra, which has the power of a impenetrable shield. Repeat it with Knowing. Repeat it using The Word.  Much love, light and life & Reiki Blessings….

Another update:  Just got off the phone with Korenna.  The baby is on a lighter respirator… just a little helper in his nose.  AND the great news is that they've given Korenna the ok to hold him.  SO, she's going to take a shower, go back to the hospital and cradle him to her body for a good 20 minutes.  This is the first time she's gotten to hold him since he was born!

Really, the main thing they're concerned about is that he has a low milanation (sp?) count.  We don't know if/how this will affect him or his development.  Let's keep the prayers going to help take care of that!

Many thanks and blessings to all who you have helped with this!  Much appreciated!

Glad to hear this news! The physical contact itself will help Noah become stronger. There are studies that connect a strong immune system and rapid physical growth in preemies to the physical contact they receive (and that connect the stunted development of children who are deprived of physical contact for a prolonged period of time. Stepping down, now, off my academic pedestal! I will use the image of them rocking together as my meditative fix today. Rocking, cuddling, growing, strengthening…

Matthew - Thanks so much for keeping us updated.  I think of Korenna so much, and it's wonderful to have a connection to her through you.  The story of Noah Sebastian is beautiful!  It's amazing how simple the perfect name can arise - and after all that research as well!  Take care of yourself, my friend, and give my love to Korenna.

Hi all.  This is the last update I'm going to post about Noah.  In late July, he developed an infection on the spot of his feeding tube in his leg.  During an attempt to heal that area, his heart stopped beating.  It never started up again.  Thanks for all your support and well wishes.  I'm sorry to be presenting you with this very sad news.

Peace,
~Matthew
